Why do I need a CRRA membership?

The Ranch Ropers Roundup is a CRRA sanctioned event. Everyone who participates must be a member.

A CRRA membership is $25 for an individual, $50 for a family plus $5 for each family member.

Why do I need a Saskatchewan Horse Federation (SHF) membership?

The CRRA is insured under a Club membership of the Sask Horse Federation. As of January 2021 the SHF amended their insurance information and because of this change the CRRA membership requirements changed too. A SHF individual membership is an annual membership. Anyone who enters the Ranch Ropers Roundup and purchases it has coverage until Dec 31, 2021.

The following information is found on www.saskhorse.ca:

All SHF members automatically receive the following insurance coverage from Capri Insurance:

  • $5,000,000 liability insurance for most horse related, non-commercial activities (deductible applies).  Also includes coverage for legal liability arising from the non-commercial and incidental care, custody and control of non-owned horses (transport, emergency boarding, etc.) limit of $10,000 per horse / $50,000 per accident.

  • $30,000 Accidental Death and Dismemberment, providing 24-hour worldwide coverage for permanent injuries arising from equine-related activities.  *Fracture, dental and loss of income claims are not included

NOTE: if you have an equivalent provincial membership you do not need to purchase a SHF membership.

Do I need to register for the Ranch Ropers Roundup when I arrive at the Moose Jaw Exhibition?

Yes. There will be signs indicating where the Registration table will be located in the Golden Mile Arena. Each new member must sign the SHF waivers required by insurance.

You will also be able to pick up a Ranch Roping Roundup souvenir and a program showing the teams participating and sponsors.

What else will I see when attending the Ranch Ropers Roundup?

There will be a display of past and current CRRA Executive and Board of Directors, old Programs to look at, newspaper clippings from previous Finals and more! There will also be a list of our sponsors!

Is there anything happening that I need to know about?

On Saturday after the roping has finished there is a supper for competitors and their families. It is a delicious dinner catered by the staff at the concession which is open both days of the roping. See the entry form for ticket information.

After the supper on Saturday night we are planning a gathering for all ropers to attend to tell stories, reminisce and meet old and new friends. More information about our gathering will be coming soon.
